Nettly Upholder

Taken at the farm, Nellore, 25 May, 2010

You can find it everywhere; in the desert and out of it, so hardy that you wonder if having barbs, a sharp tongue or pointy teeth is what is necessary to survive in this world - for us as well.

'Goodness' is a myth we better not teach our children, unless we want them to be unarmed in a world that survives with weapons; armed with teeth, nails, fists and tongues, all so sharp that getting hurt gets you to nowhereland. What we need to teach them instead, is to develop a thick skin and also teach them how to sharpen their weapons in readiness for survival!!...Sad thoughts after posting this handsome creation of nature....reality bites...it really did - bite!!
