Through the Looking Glass

Taken on 26 September, 2010, in my dining room.


Drawing back the curtains brought in beams of light that lit up the wash area of the dining in a spectacular fashion. The mirror caught the window of the drawing room and to my amazement it was blue! The contrast of the yellow sun and the blue skies was unbelievably beautiful.


Tomorrow's post will be the grayscale of the complete effect.

Crimson Youth

Taken in November 2009, Thrissur, Kerala.

Morning walks were a feast for sore eyes. The countryside was awash with colour. The retreating monsoon was active; and creepers and climbers, crept and climbed just about any surface. I found this particular plant very interesting because of the extreme contrast the old and the new presented; and this plant was the dominant species at that time and place.

Red Eyed Peas

I was captivated by the contrasts the still presented me...the dried up palm leaves in two layers and the Crab's Eye...with a dash of green creeper!

Wedded to the Weld

A beautiful vine so enmeshed in the diamond mesh fencing, it has made the diamond shape many times over. I loved the contrast.

Beauty of Contrasts

Taken on 28 Jan, 2010 at Thalessery, Kerala. That's the garden in front of my ancestral house. The chaos in the background is as pleasing as this manicured patch but do eyes look for lines of symmetry?

Chose to Stand Up

From flowers and trees

This flower is a part of a hedge, neatly trimmed and all lined up but it chose to stand up and be different. It decided to use the coconut palm as a prop to get elevated in character and style.
The second is my digiart...an oil painting of the original.
