My 3 year old nephew recently visited our native place in Gujarat with my Parents and sisters and got so excited after seeing a buffalo that he'd point it out to everyone whenever he saw one.
When they all returned back to Mumbai, my Mom told me that every single person in the remotest village of ours knew what to call that animal in ENGLISH! In Gujju or Hindi we call it "Bhains" but then on the whole little village started using the word Buffalo despite not knowing what is A B C D.......
Pictures of buffaloes, cows and goats being taken to the slaughterhouse are so difficult for me. Especially when your car happens to be right behind one such vehicle and they keep looking at you with blank expressions but wet eyes.
